Mellish Rugby Football Club Floodlighting Project

This project is to improve the facilities at Mellish Rugby Football Club with the upgrading of current floodlighting to more sustainable alternatives. Part of a phased project overall LED lighting will replace halogen lighting on 3 pitches and the addition of LED floodlighting on a fourth pitch will increase the usable floodlit areas. This project will provide floodlighting on Pitches 2, 3 and 4..

Currently, the club runs provisions and activities for Mini (Mixed Age Group 5 – 11), Junior (Male 12 – 18), and Adults (Male and Female 18+), with a total of 300 playing members involved across these sections. The ambition is to increase the capacity of current provision whilst also developing new opportunities, including Junior (Female 12 – 18), Walking Rugby and Touch Rugby. This will enable increased reach into the local community and support wider community health benefits through existing links into Arnold Integrated Neighbourhood Working Group, Killisick Community Group and Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Integrate Care Board. As well as ensuring continuation to evolve to include new and emerging versions of the sport of rugby union including Mixed Ability and T1.
