Memorial Hall Field Play Area, Sonning Common

Sonning Common Parish Council was gifted 4.1 hectares of agricultural land through the Neighbourhood Development Plan and Planning permission has been granted for a sport, recreation and community amenity. Phase one of the project is about to commence, which is creating levelled playing areas, a trackway, landscaping and a MUGA. This project is for Phase 2, providing a new children’s play area for 2-12 year olds. The play area will provide new outdoor play and exercise opportunities. The design brief for this play area paid a special focus on providing accessible play equipment, which is currently lacking in the village and the vision for this new site is that it will be somewhere for everyone to enjoy and access. The project will provide accessible equipment which allows all children to play together at the same time, such as basket swings and a DDA compliant roundabout.
