Mere Sands Wood: Sharing the Wood

We have recently received funding to carry out woodland improvements. We plan to; - Trains 3 volunteers in chainsaw to carry out the woodland works - Create improved habitats for invertebrates in the cleared woodland areas by planting flowering plants. Children from Rufford Village School will undertake the planting - Create additional invertebrate habitats by installing green roofs on three viewing hides - Organise demonstrations of green roof creation to show visitors how they could do this on a shed or garage roof at home. We would also design and provide information handouts on green roof creation.
