Mersehead Outdoor Education Shelter

The project will involve the construction of an outdoor shelter to provide visitors and children sheltered space within the reserve’s raised wildlife garden. This will be an important addition to the informal learning facilities on site as it will provide a space for lessons to take place outdoors even during inclement weather. Sheltered from the wind and rain, children will be able to leave equipment whilst they explore the garden and learn about important topics such as ecosystems and the importance of species upon one another. During periods of rain, informal lessons will be able to be continued outdoors underneath the shelter. It will provide a shelter facility for all members of the public who visit the reserve, providing shelter from inclement weather or just a place to reflect and enjoy the outdoor views whilst enjoying the raised wildlife garden.
