Messing Village Hall

The project proposes to extend the Grade II Listed village hall in a conservation area to provide more space for events, the heat pump, solar array controls and attendant equipment.
A consequence of the extension being built will provide an office for the parish council and a room for youth activities and more room in the main hall.
In a response to questionnaires a refurbishment programme has been drawn up with environmentally friendly and renewable methods high o the agenda. The aim is to revitalise the community building which is in the heart of the village and in doing so demonstrate to residents and visitors through the refurbishment programme the importance of combating the effects of climate change.
The applicant is working with the RCCE, architects, planners and companies from the renewable energy sector to integrate energy efficient solutions to ensure that a building of this nature and age has a low carbon footprint by employing high standards of insulation and renewable methods of heating.
