Micklefield Children’s Play Area

The project will provide a new, modern and stimulating children’s play area for 8-15 year olds in Micklefield.
The facility will include a large slide; an aerial runway;
a climbing frame structure; an inclusive roundabout;
a pair of classic swings; one Cantilever Swing; informal play features (boulders, mounds, dry river bed etc.);
a bitmac footpath; metal seating; litter bins and appropriate areas of safety surfacing (‘grasslock’) around the play equipment. There will be no fencing around the play area (ie. open plan play equipment and features), but 1.5m high dark green metal fencing will be installed along the north western perimeter of the project site,
with a vehicular width maintenance gate and ‘A frame’ access controls. Other works will include clearance of the triangular copse ground cover, tree maintenance and the creation of an informal footpath through the copse with native bluebell planting.
