Mile Oak Recreation Ground, Tamworth – BMX Track (4953/D)

We aim to improve and extend a dilapidated BMX-track at the Mile Oak Recreation Ground. The current track is in a very poor and unusable condition but with the improvements the track will become a very popular facility in the area. During this process the young people will also be setting up their own BMX Club, gaining new members and they will have responsibility of looking after and maintaining the track. The rebuild will use a nationally recognised BMX-track contractor to provide an appropriate professional-grade track. We will also improve the facilities for those that will use the track as well as put 5 of the young people involved in the project on a Sports First Aid Course so that they can deal with any incidents that may occur. The Mile Oak Sea Scouts and Mazeley Youth Club will also be doing a small nature project including installing bird boxes and bat boxes. The Trust grant will contribute towards the BMX track.
