Mill Lane Park Older Childrens Play Area

The project aims to create a new challenging play area at Mill Lane Park Preston, addressing a need for older children aged 8-12 identified by consultation in 2008. The project has been developed by a partnership including the Friends of Mill Lane Park, Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council. The project is needed because the current play area is for younger children and is run down, and due to the age of the equipment some will soon have to be removed. The new play area will be accessible to children of a range of abilities and will increase opportunities for disabled children and children with special educational needs to use the park. It is also intended that the play area will be accessible to children from nearby rural, disadvantaged and minority neighbourhoods.
