Projects / Millingford Brook Walk

Millingford Brook Walk

The project entails the rehabilitation of a 300m section of Millingford Brook, and adjacent pockets of land in Golborne, Wigan. The overall aim of the project is to enhance and rejuvenate the brook corridor and surrounding land, which is heavily used by walkers, dog owners, cyclists, children travelling to school and adults travelling to work. The brook has been altered from its natural form by adding stone and concrete walls along its banks and by widening its section. This means that the brook has become a sediment trap, which collects on the fly tipped debris that litters the channel
