Millom Heritage Museum and Visitor Centre

The project aims to ‘re-brand’ and refurbish the museum and visitor centre by insulating, plastering and redecorating four galleries, creating new displays covering working life, family life and village life. New items from the, now closed, RAF Museum will also be re-sited in the Discovery Centre. The recommendations of an energy audit will be implemented in making changes to the way the centre is heated, with consideration given to the needs of a museum environment. New ways to utilise the museum space for community events and longer opening hours will be explored to increase footfall and three local schools will be involved in the upgrade and production of new displays.
