Minimising Pharmaceuticals in Household Waste Disposed to Landfills

The project aims to reduce the proportion of household pharmaceutical waste going to landfills. It will encourage the use of more sustainable waste management practices and technologies by landfill operators and the local community. This could be extended to become a national campaign. The objectives of the project are to assess the scope of situation and develop alternatives to solid waste disposal, to achieve waste minimisation through developing sustainable management strategies for diverting waste away from landfills.
