Moneyfields FC, Portsmouth – MUGA (7160)

A new Multi Use Games Area that will support the development of Portsmouth as a cohesive city where people of all ages benefit from access to state-of-the art community facilities. The MUGA will become an inclusive sports hub for local residents – throughout the year, sessional coaches and community volunteers will deliver physical activities for individuals belonging to marginalised groups who are faced with financial, logistical and psychological barriers to health and wellbeing support. The new MUGA will help bring positive physical and mental wellbeing outcomes by working with at-risk groups identified through consultation, namely: disadvantaged children and young people (e.g. those in receipt of Pupil Premium), disabled children and adults who are often excluded from local leisure services, vulnerable adults exhibiting unhealthy habits or senior adults experiencing feelings of loneliness or ill-health.
