Monkland Canal - Connecting the Past to the Future

Our project is an integrated package of training, heritage, environmental and access improvements that will better link Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life with the Monkland Canal Corridor and the wider environs of North Lanarkshire. We propose to restore the Vulcan and transform it into a new canal interpretation centre at Summerlee. We are also proposing access improvements that will make it easier for visitors and communities to access and enjoy the Canal corridor from Summerlee.
