Moorsholm in Bllom – Environmental and Conservation Project

To restore 2 heritage footways near the centre of the village (circa 1876) by lifting and relaying about 50m of Yorkshire flagstones which originally formed a footpath infront of the village school built 1876 (now converted to a residential care home) and make it level, safe and accessible to all sectors of the community/visitors, including disabled / pushchair access along what is now an open green lane known locally as Manor Court Lane.
Also to create a community seating area on the open public space adjacent to the path by installing seating and flower beds / planters to enhance the natural environment and provide a public amenity that can be accessed by local residents and the wider community
To carry out similar work on an older footway (‘trod’) at Uxto Lane made of rougher sandstone and dating from circ 18thc, and originally used by travellers and traders passing through with pack horses……….
