Moray Red Squirrel Conservation Project Phase 2

To engage primary school children in practical conservation action to conserve, restore and enhance natural habitat to benefit red squirrel and other native flora and fauna. This project will raise awareness amongst the local community about biodiversity issues relating to red squirrels.

The project will take place at Sanquhar Community Woodlands and Culbin Forest. Primary School children will take part in surveys of red squirrel signs and sightings, surveys of grey squirrels, setting up red squirrel boxes and feeding stations, and habitat enhancement including the removal of non-native species and tree planting.
