Mossley Community Centre, Oldham - Community Centre Refurbishment (008514)

Mossley Community Centre is a crucial local asset. 600+ people per week attend the Centre. We open 7 days, run 22 groups, rent space to start-ups and hire rooms. It’s in a Victorian School House and parts of the building, particularly toilets, heating and electrics no longer meet modern standards. Energy efficiency is poor, and rising energy costs place pressure on our long-term financial sustainability. This proposal (full document attached below) seeks funding to (1) Refurbish / reconfigure the existing WC block to meet current Building Regs (Approved Document M compliant) (2) Improve accessibility for disabled, families and young children (3) Modernise heating and hot water systems to reduce energy waste (3) Upgrade electrical infrastructure to safely support new installations (4) Install solar PV with battery storage to reduce long-term electricity costs (5) Improve thermal performance and reduce future maintenance risk (6) Support biodiversity through creating a living roof.
