Moyola River Access Project

Moyola Angling Assoication (MAA) has done much to secure the future of the river and improve access along the river for its members, visiting anglers and walkes. However, mjch of the river upstream of Lisnamuck Bridge is devoid of essential infrastructure such as stiles and footbridges which makes access difficult for anglers and walkers alike and can on occasions, lead to confrontations with landowners when fences are damaged. MAA propose erecting stiles and where required footbhridges along the stretch of river upstream of the Lisnamuck Bridge to Derrynoid Bridge thereby improving access to the river for all its users. this would help increase tourism in the area, promote healthy lifestyles in the region by encouraging people to walk and would increase enviromental awareness of the river and its ecosystems.
