Muir Wood Park, Edinburgh

Muir Wood Park is a 1.82ha area of open amenity grassland with a woodland block of around 0.78ha, situated in a residential area in Currie, Edinburgh. The local community is keen for woodland management to be undertaken to improve condition and appearance of the woodland. The project will carry out thinning works to improve tree safety and reduce light competition, with selective regeneration planting to favour native species. This will help to influence the future species make-up of the woodland to achieve a more wildlife friendly native composition, as well as improving appearance and safety for users of the park.
