Murray Library Restoration

The Murray Library can no longer be used for purposes for which it was gifted to the town. In order to prevent this prominent building falling into disrepair a sustainable future has been worked out. This involves converting the front part of the building into a back packers’ hostel and the back part into much needed Creative industry units. Care is being taken to include energy saving materials and re-use of materials. The design will encourage the public to use both buildings with rentable meeting spaces being provided.. The light and modern entrance from a courtyard accessible to the public at the rear of the building will provide a new streetscape.
