Nan Nook Woodland Regeneration Project

Nan Wood is an area of semi – natural ancient woodland covering approximately 3 hectares. Nan Nook Wood is found on the fringes of Wythenshawe Park, South West Manchester. In addition to find stands of native species such as Oak and Beech the wood is host to several seasonal ponds. The woodland has suffered from antisocial behaviour such as flytipping and unauthorised vehicular access. The aim of the project is to bring the woodland back into management which would involve a variety of tasks such as removal of invasive species, clearance of flytipped material, drainage improvements to sustain ponds over the summer period, access control through hedge planting and a variety of biodiversity works.
