National Museums at Chatham

National Museums at Chatham will create a new world class museum at the historic dockyard, Chatham and preserve the Smithery, an ancient scheduled monument, providing it with a sustainable re- use. The new museum, being created in partnership with the National Maritime Museum and the Imperial Museum, will transform the cultural landscape of Kent. It will display the maritime models collections of the National Museums in thematic displays and the touring gallery will provide a much needed regional venue for world – class touring exhibitions. The new museum will provide important access and learning opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds locally, regionally and nationally.
