Nature and the Environment Comes Home

The project aims to make activities that happen in wildlife more accessible to the general public. A project officer will be employed, various features will be added to the existing nature – based tourist trail and webcams will record wildlife activities. The Kelloholm Parish Heritage Society will upgrade an area of pathway to improve the surface for elderly people who use the trail. It is proposed to grade a section and construct a handrail to make access easier. Two areas of aspen and juniper will also be fenced off to help regeneration and tree planting will also be carried out. Local primary schools will be liased with throughout the project and walks will be organised for a wide range of groups in the village.
