Nature@Northumberlandia

Opened in 2012 as mitigation for surface mining at Blagdon, Northumberlandia is a 46 acre country park on the outskirts of Cramlington and home to the world’s largest human landform sculpture, the ‘Lady of the North’, inspired by the distant Cheviot hills. This project intends to provide additional wildlife-friendly areas, improve access and provide new facilities. The addition of a treetop hide, interpretation, nature trails/’story circle’, a wildlife garden and volunteer planting of native bulbs, plugs and trees will bring people closer to nature and provide new opportunities for environmental education.
