Nene Valley Railway – Creation of Accessibility Carriage for use on Railway

Modify a, currently unused, standard railway carriage (constructed in 1961) so as to provide double width doors on both sides at one end, together with a toilet suitable for disabled and wheelchair users, and an open area for the parking of wheelchairs with full sight through the Mark I carriage windows. Additional chairs will allow companions to join the wheelchair users at the same level so that all travellers can enjoy the train ride to the same degree. The other end of the coach will remain as originally built so that able bodied passengers can travel as before.
