Netherton Park, Sefton – Forest Garden (005280)

The project will engage the community and increase biodiversity through:
Woodland bulb planting in the primarily deciduous woodland and drifts of wildflower throughout the site
Plant an edible forest garden
Build green waste and water collection facilities
Establish a hive of bees and train 6 volunteers in beekeeping, providing local honey
Clear an overgrown area to design and build a soft fruit maze for children to pick and play
Teach volunteers to build benches, bug, bird, bat and hedgehog houses to support wildlife and places to observe it
Install wildlife cameras for educational purposes
Add value to existing food growing and Forest School activities
Create a vibrant, all year, outdoor classroom for all ages and seasons
Provide locally grown food for the community
