New Play Equipment, Basketball Court and PingPong Table

The existing basket swing will be removed and replaced with a new swing set that includes junior swings and a basket swing to cater for a larger age range, laying SafaGrass safety surfacing. This will increase the number of swing sets to 3 (there are already two junior swings in the park). The basketball court surface is cracked and broken and will be replaced with a new court surface. The current basket ball hoop and back board are broken and will be replaced. A ping pong table will be added to the playpark to provide sports facilities for a wide range of ages.

This project will have massive social benefits for the Mepal community as it will provide a play park that will be more inclusive of all ages as well as a more enticing place to go and spend time and therefore meet up with others. By providing play and sports equipment for a wide range of ages it is hoped that more people will use the play park and socialise with others in the parish helping to foster friendships and create a better community spirit whilst improving mental health. The Ping-Pong table will provide a amenity to those that may want to be more active but struggle to partake in more physical sports thus helping to improve the metal health and general health of those individuals. The project aims to reduce anti social behaviour by providing amenities for those that might have turned to anti social behaviour to relive boredom.
