New Roof

FCSC’s original clubhouse was erected in 1960 and has had several extensions added to the original structure since then. The most recent, containing ladies changing rooms and the activity/fitness room erected in 2003/4, has a pitched roof. However the older parts of the building have a flat felted roof with several different levels. The quality of the roof over this part of the building has now reached the stage where the continuous patching that has been undertaken to seal leaks between the adjoining areas and to repair the deteriorating roof felting is no longer effective and the interior of the building is regularly being damaged by water ingress. In addition there is little or no insulation in the existing flat roof structure and energy costs are excessive as a result of this.
The Club is now seeking to raise funds to pay for re-felting of the Squash Courts roof and the erecting of a pitched roof over the remainder of clubhouse to eradicate leaks and meet current energy conservation regulations.
