Newlands (New Economic Environments through Woodlands)

Newlands is a strategic programme of brownfield land regeneration being delivered across the North West of England, designed to tackle the problems caused by derelict, underused or neglected land (DUN land) through restoration to community woodland uses. The project is the leading soft-end use land reclamation project within the region, and is unique in terms of its scale, its approach to delivery, its aspirations around community engagement and its commitment to long term community led stewardship. The project will reclaim a minimum of 435 hectares and create new community forests in 7 of the most deprived areas of the country
