Newmarket Studlands Park BMX Track

Studlands Park is located in north west Newmarket and is re-claimed waste ground on a large housing estate. The Park complex / facilities include a multi use games area, Studlands Park Sports & Social Club, toddlers play area, landscaped areas with seating and a sort of BMX track. The current BMX facility is located on waste ground made available to the DC; the facilities simply include earth / dirt tracks with humps, lumps and dirt mounds to make jump and related features. The work has been undertaken by local youths and their parents with the help of some earth moving equipment and is very amateurish, temporary and is not particularly good or safe.

The project is to professionally upgrade the current BMX track, to enhance the immediate surrounding areas through environmental landscaping and to provide a youth shelter together with safe storage for equipment.
