Newnham-on-Severn Clock Tower Restoration

The aim is to renovate the Clock Tower and ensure it is of sound structure for the enjoyment of the people of the village and visitors for generations to come. This will be achieved by removing iron ladder rungs causing structural damage to the building, due to expansion of the rungs and the repair of cracks and mortar dislodgement caused by expansion of the iron rungs. The original iron rungs will be replaced with a stainless steel ladder (Internal and not visible to the public) allowing maintenance access to the upper areas of the tower and the clock mechanism, without fear of further structural issues as Stainless steel does not corrode and expand.
