Newton Heritage Trail and Health Walk, Newton & Earlestown Community Group, Newton-le-Willows, St Helens

This is a project to fund a Heritage Trail in and around Newton-le-Willows. The current Heritage Trail, which was installed 15 years ago, is now mostly in a bad state of repair. Some signage has outdated information, some is badly damaged, and there are several locations where the sign is missing completely. The original route has been reviewed and is seen to be overly complex in some areas and too long. It is intended to refresh the Heritage Trail with current information and QR codes which will link to a website with detailed histories of the heritage locations and detailed maps for ‘detours’ to beauty spots and sites of interest a little way off the main route.
