Newton St. Cyres Tennis Club - Floodlight Replacement

The floodlights are old, bulb replacement is unpredictable and not cost effective. New LED lights are brighter, energy efficient and low maintenance. Energy savings are estimated at £200 per year. The club has built up a Maintenance Fund based on LTA guidelines but recent expenditure on the clubhouse and court re-surfacing means there is a shortfall for floodlights. Replacing old bulbs is not cost effective and is becoming a drain on the club's financial resources and savings scheme. LED floodlighting is up to 80% more efficient than traditional lighting. Also 95% of the energy is converted into light and only 5% wasted in heat. Less energy reduces demand from power plants and decreases greenhouse gas emissions. LED lights have a much longer lifespan, thus reducing maintenance costs and improving safety.
