Non Turf Net Facilities, St Albans Cricket Club

To create a fully enclosed 4 lane non-turf net facility at the ground of St Albans Cricket Club. The current net facilities have deteriorated to an extent where the bounce is unreliable and dangerous. The adult team has stopped using them, the juniors only use them with soft balls but they remain popular with the general public with daily use in the summer months.

The facility is required because the existing facility is now beyond repair and dangerous to use; the capability of both the adult and junior sections of the club is resticted by the non-availability of practice facilities; further development of the club is planned and this work is an essential element. In addition the nets will provide an improved facility for the use of schools, local groups nad the general public that will attract further players to the club and give a long term increase in participation in cricket.
