Noor lnayat Khan: A Woman of Conspicuous Courage

Drive engagement with the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial through the story of Noor lnayat Khan, a Second World War agent and the most highly decorated Muslim woman in British Military history.
1. To create a permanent installation at the CWGC Runnymede Air Forces Memorial which conveys the story and achievements of Noor lnayat Khan and her connection to the Memorial.
2. To demonstrate the legacy of Noor lnayat Khan as technical specialist of her time, highlighting the STEM skills required of her through a combination of digital and physical interpretation.
3. To inspire young women and girls to engage with Noor’s story through a programme of community outreach with the Girlguiding Association working in partnership to develop interpretive and marketing outputs.
4. To trial a new interpretative approach for a CWGC memorial site which enhances the visitor experience and contains content that is directly aimed at young people.
