Norma Hutchinson Park Creative Fitness Trail – Treasured Space

We believe that people everywhere and of every age need places to treasure. Whether its a place to kick a football about, a place to relax, or a place to have fun. Not everyone is getting the benefit of good outside space. some people are missing out and some communities just don’t have any green space to treasure. We are running a campaign to encourage more people to get involved with supporting and improving local treasured spaces. The aim of Norma Hutchinson Park project is to provide a fitness trail around and new footpath football pitch in the park. There is a need for improved opportunities for healthy activity in Chapeltown, an area identified as deprived and suffering from health inequalities. There is a particular problem in Chapeltown in terms of the incidence of obesity and diabetes, compared to the rest of Leeds and it is imperative that people are provided with facilities that will stimulate them to increase their fitness levels.
