North Devon Biosphere’s Life’s Journey Project

The Life’s Journey project will safeguard and increase the quality and quantity of physical and intellectual access to the built and cultural history, including biodiversity, of three places in northern Devon that are linked by a major local amenity, the heavily-used Tarka Trail cycle/pedestrian path which runs along the coast from Barnstaple to Torrington.

It will involve the public in discovering and interpreting the cultural richness and history of Fremington Port, Home Farm Marsh and areas with remains of the Rolle Canal alongside the Tarka Trail, and will provide volunteering opportunities and training. It will provide mobility vehicle hire from Fremington Quay to improve disabled access to Home Farm Marsh and the Tarka Trail in particular.
