North Kirklees Therapeutic Garden and Community Cafe Project

Set within an area of high multiple deprivation, the project will work with a range of statutory, voluntary and community bodies to provide groups of volunteers their own area in a new (communal) community garden at the Pakistan and Kashmire Welfare Association, providing valuable training and routes into skilled employment, social and therapeutic opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged people, a raised profile for volunteering within the local community.

The project will also set up an affordable community cafe, in adjoining premises, providing nourishing food and food education in an area where ther is a high incidence of diet related disease
