North West Community Environmental Work Project (7241)

The project will enable people living in the disadvantaged community of Spotland Estate to have a say in, involvement in improving and benefit from the environment of their estate. The improvement works will be carried out by two local people employed on ILM contracts and local volunteers supervised by BTCV initially. Eventually the project will be supported to set up a ‘friends of’ group to maintain woodland other open spaces on their estates.
Funding is sought for materials and equipment to carry out improvement works to open spaces on the estate to enhance the appearance and quality of the environment of the whole estate including planting wildflowers, planting trees, access improvements and hedgelaying
