Northern Forest Partnership Project – Spud Wood Thinning Works

Spud Wood is a fantastic green oasis between Warrington and Manchester located on the Bridgewater canal sitting in the heart of the western side of the Northern Forest area. Thinning work is planned for a part of this woodland in February 2022. The work will help increase biodiversity in the woodland by allowing in more light which will stimulate new growth. The woodland will also be less dense, increasing vision and improving sight lines, and so make the woodland feel safer to people to walk in.
