Northside Wood Cumbernauld – Enhancing biodeiversity in urban greenspace

The project aims to restructure almost 8 hectares of predominantly non-native woodland to encourage native woodland regeneration and growth on an urban wildlife reserve by thinning woodland to benefit established native tree species such as oak, rowan, ash and birch. Non-native species such as lodgepole pine and sitka spruce will be felled. Native tree species will be planted.
