Northway Skatepark, Northway Parish Council, Northway, Tewkesbury

This is a project to create a new modern skatepark to replace the deteriorating modular skatepark at Northway Playing Field in Tewkesbury. This new facility will provide an exciting and safe space for local riders, ensuring continued enjoyment, community engagement, and revitalise the area. It will give the community something that they can take pride in and ownership of, whilst providing an avenue for children and young adults to hone their talents or discover new ones. With the rising popularity of wheeled sports, the community will also benefit from the notable social and health benefits that a skatepark has to offer. Studies have been conducted, particularly in the UK and the US, which often conclude that skateparks, when well designed and integrated into the community, can lead to reductions in youth related antisocial behaviour.
