Nottingham Croquet Club - East Lawns Renewal

The overall project involves the relevelling of 3 platforms covering lawn 1, lawns 2 & 3 (combined into a single platform) and lawns 4 & 5 (similarly combined). Each platform is to be perfectly level, that is with no slope in any direction. Levelling is to be achieved within the existing topsoil. A series of individual catchwater drains, with inspection chambers, rodding points and discharge headwalls, are to be incorporated in between the platforms and at each end of the series of platforms. The levelled areas of each platform are to be provided with a sand carpet, 50 mm deep. The working area is to be sown with specified grass seed and the developing sward appropriately maintained up until it has received 5 mowing operations. With the lawns back in condition they will allow the applicants to continue to attract new members, provide casual and social play, support juniors and students, this will all help to improve and support wellbeing and nurture and develop talent.
