Nottingham – Marmion Park Playground Refurbishment

The project is the renovation of Marmion Park to provide additional exciting play opportunities for young people.
The play area at Marmion Park will be supplemented with additional play equipment to improve the offering for local residents. The present play space will have some refurbishment done to create an improved facility for the local community. The project will include the supply and installation of additional play equipment, safety surfacing, site furniture and associated work.
The tender brief will ask the play companies to consider children of all abilities when designing the new play area to ensure that the new equipment is accessible to both disabled and non disabled children. The surfacing of the new play area will be asphalt and safety surfacing which will make the facility accessible for those with mobility difficulties or people in wheelchairs.
Any parts that can be used as spares will be galvanised from the current play equipment before it is removed from site. As a follow on from this project, there will be new trees and bulbs planted on site. The current surfacing is to remain on site but be refurbished, eliminating the need to dispose of it. The wet pour surfacing is made from recycled materials. The applicants equipment choices are chosen with longevity in mind, to avoid replacing within short timeframes.
