NWT - Scrubbing Up Clarborough Tunnel

Improving biodiversity, access and safety at Clarborough Tunnel. 1. Scrub Management 2. Coppicing 3. Creation of Stairways – NWT staff and volunteers will create three sets of stairways in compartment 2, on slopes which are currently challenging for some visitors and provide poor access. It is NWT’s aim to make our reserves as safe as possible, for the greatest range of people, whilst keeping wildlife in mind. This action will open up a safer, more accessible reserve for a greater range of visitors. 4. Ditch Filling 5. Introduction of Kissing Gates 6. Purchase and Installation of Gate Counter – Installing a gate counter under the main entrance to the reserve will enable NWT to accurately monitor the amount of visitors the site receives.
