Open space enhancement for flora and fauna at Langley Vale Wood

The main conservation aims of this specific project are:
1) Open areas that were, under previous management, heavily sprayed with fertilisers and pesticides will instead be grazed sympathetically to allow wildflowers and plants to regenerate and thrive.
2) Existing arable margins will be extended into the field systems to allow rare plants which survive in these narrow corridors the chance to spread and flourish.
The key to this is to introduce conservation grazing and support from Biffa Award would allow us to install 3650m of grazing fencing for 3 compartments totalling 15.8ha which will benefit the BAP habitats of Lowland Calcareous Grassland, and Arable Field Margins.
