Openshaw Park Cricket Development

The project will provide a cricket facility that is fully accessible to the public, enhancing existing recreational facilities in a deprived part of Bury. Young people of South Pakistani Heritage from the local community who play cricket on the streets or in alleys will have access to a facility specially designed for cricket in a safe environment. This means more formal style cricket can be played by young players of participation level from the East Bury area and the project will encourage physical activity by more local players, thereby supporting healthy lifestyles.
