Optimising Plastic Bottle Recycling Sorting and Bulking Systems

To review good practice in order to educate/train operatives to implement lowest-cost handling systems for post consumer plastic recyclables. Different scales of system used in the UK to sort and bulk plastic bottles will be evaluated through a series of case studies. The information will be presented in a clear concise report, together with appropriate analysis and conclusions. It is also planned to obtain, and make available, video footage of the operations at each facility visited. The results will be disseminated nationally to educate recycling professionals.
