Oriel Court, Derby – Play Area (5955/D)

Oriel Court’s existing play area has reached the end of its life and needs replacing. Derby Homes has consulted with local residents and their children and the feedback overwhelmingly confirms that the children would like to have a new play area and these children have given us ideas on what they would like to see. The community has now worked with a play design company to make these ideas come to life. The community has designed the following: 1. Replace existing play equipment with newly designed play equipment, recycled fencing and safety surfacing. 2. Using the natural lie of the land and intertwining around the trees to fit three obstacle themed play structures. 3. Following the natural play theme, we intend to plant four established trees which will act as natural goal posts for the children to use to play football. The proposed work is in keeping with the natural environment.
The Trust grant is a contribution towards the play area.
