Oundle Lawn Tennis Club- Luminaries Upgrade

The Augean Community Fund supported the Club with grants in 2015 and 2019 to install new LED lights on 1, 2 and 3 tennis courts. The lights revolutionised players’ ability to play for longer, particularly in the winter. The
fund is now supporting the upgrade the lighting on courts 4 and 5 (to match the other three courts). The current metal Halide lights are working at 20% of their original capacity due to their old age. Lighting all five courts will
allow prolonged play time, particularly important to members who are not able to play during the day, the extended playing time will also help to meet demand for well lit courts from the Club’s growing membership. The benefits will include: reduced carbon emissions and energy costs, reduced light pollution and help to increase exercise and socialisation for all players.
