Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Manchester – Brickwork Restoration

There has been a collapse of brickwork in the R arch of the choir loft window. Identified during re-plastering and redecoration of damaged plaster as part of findings of Quinquennial Review. They need to rebuild brickwork in accordance with guidance and comply with regulations as it is a grade11 listed building.
The repair of brickwork identified above. They have raised £700 for organ protection, scaffolding (£2000) and they have raised funds for damaged plaster removal and repair (£3500) but have not got sufficient funds to pay for brickwork repair.
The parish has a vibrant choir with ages from 11 to 90 some with mental health /dementia. They are an integral part of the parish community and support all aspects of parish, school, community life, promoting social inclusion. Repairs commenced in late 2019 and since then the choir have been unable to use the area due to the scaffolding and safety concerns.
